All funds are used to match federal and private grants unavailable to public organizations like the city or as matching facade grants to downtown businesses. Their primary goals are to restore Broad St. commercially and beautify downtown Richland. C&M Southern Midways set for Pig Fest XVI Charles and Mike Haisch will provide the carnival for this year. The brothers have been in the carnival business for more than 30 years. Their rides are safe and clean. They specialize in festivals rather than shopping center appearances. We're happy to announce this partnership! Meet Charles and Mike Haisch and see the Midway rides Sanctioned by the Georgia Barbecue Association Second Weekend in November every year. Professional cook teams vie for more than $5,000 in cash and prizes at "the best little cook-off in Georgia." Street dances, fireworks display, carnival rides, car & truck show, arts & crafts, food, rail speeder car rides and much more. American Legion Post 128: Support American Legion BBQ May 4! American Legion members are currently offering tickets for BBQ chicken plates. There will be a community flea market at Legion Park May 4 in conjunction with the BBQ. Support our Veterans! Capital campaign to improve quarters continues American Legion City Park and Post 128 have been a part of the social fabric of Richland since the 1920s. What began as a small cabin built by WWI vets grew to an open pavilion for BBQs. Eventually the pavilion was closed in and became the social center for several generations of Richland families. American Legion Post 128 members are raising money to air condition the post building and assure that it remains an attractive gathering place for the next generation. You can help. Richland Rum is everywhere in the news these days! Retail store is coming to Broad Street soon.
Richland Rum is a big hit all over the state. Richland Rum is making a splash all over the state and invading Tennessee! Erik Vonk created the company and Jay McCain is now cooking up a storm. Richland has a legal still that is delivering small batches of artisan rum. Richland Distilling Co. is turning sugar cane and cane syrup into rum in historic downtown at 333 Broad St. The artisan product has been featured in Atlanta Magazine, Garden & Gun, SVW, the AJC and Southwest Georgia Living, not to mention many regional newspapers. The rum is now available in popular bars and restaurant all over Georgia. Richland Rum will soon be available in the Chattanooga area, the first foray outside Georgia for the rum. Distiller Jay McCain fills bottles with 120 proof alcohol distilled from sugar cane juice. The bottles will be placed into charred barrels for aging.
