American Legion Post 128 Launches Capital Campaign American Legion City Park has been a part of the social fabric of Richland since the 1920s. American Legion Post 128 members are raising money to air condition the post building and assure that it remains an attractive gathering place for the next generation. You can help. Your contribution, large or small, to the capital campaign fund can be mailed to: American Legion Post 128 Donation Fund, Farmers State Bank, Richland, GA 31825. You can also drop off your check when you stop by the bank on personal business. Your donation is tax deductible.
American Legion City Park is home to the Arts & Crafts festival each spring. Post 128 would like to have more people using the American Legion Hall, which can trace its history back to the 1920s in the City Park. Veterans returning from World War I built the original hall, which was a replica of YMCA WWI huts built all over Europe. The hut was replaced by an open pavilion designed to host chicken BBQ fund raisers and expanded to its present footprint. Please help sustain this monument to Richland's rich human history.
